Wacken Open Air 2009 Print E-mail

tbn_veranstalterIt started at the beginning of 2009 as we presented our idea "United Against Racism" to Holger Hübner, one of the promoter of the W:O:A. He was excited and wanted to support us. Now the 20th Wacken Open Air is history and we look back to the result of our work. And it is an very good result. We got more bands for our activity as we believed before. And most of it we met many bands who were very open-minded to our project.

tbn_carstensen_01At our meetings we had a lot of funny and interesting incidents. So we met the prime minister of Schleswig Holstein, Mr. Peter Harry Carstensen. It was a great chance, because he is the host of this event and is very nice. We talked for a while with him and he told us that he wasn't here because of the music. At least he wished us a lot of success and fun.

tbn_fuelgirls_01An  project like ours need also a nice visuell impulsion and so we met the Fuel-Girls at he Meet&Greet stage. First they didn't want to take photos with us, but finally  our idea convinced them. Later we met 2 of the girls again as we talked to Lemmy. But unfortunately we didn't met them third, because we would love to spend them a drink, like the good old tradition...Lächeln

tbn_kielwater_01The Wacken-promoter always support young and hopefull metal-bands. So this year they didi the usual metal-battle again. This is an international contest for new metalbands, where they got the chance to get a bit famous. This year we met the lithuanian band KIELWATER. We had a lot of fun with them and learned how lithuanian beer tasts. It was sure from the first moment, that KIELWATER joined our project "United Against Racism!!"

Again it was a big festival, not only because our successfull project. One is sure, without the support of the W:O:A promoters and the whole team, we couldn't do this project. So we want to say a big 'Thank you to Holger, Thomas and Sheree, and especially to Britta, Ute and Nogge, who always had time for us, although they had a lot of stress.

We'll see again  next year at Wacken Open Air 2010. Rain or shine!
